Crossroads pampers delegates with great music and friendly vibes

Discover
and be
discovered

The streets of the charming Czech city of Ostrava were quite literally filled with exciting musical treats and delegates from all over the world between 29 June and 1 of July. With one of the festival’s stages set up outdoors, delegates could check out 16 gigs by selected artists from Spain, Slovenia, Poland, Slovakia and the Czech Republic during the three festival days.

A member of UPBEAT, Czech Music Crossroads has been one of the proponents of emerging artists from its region and across since 2014, delivering as an established but intimate boutique showcase festival.

Sutari selected as best act

The ‘unusual, dissolute and hard to classify’ female trio of Polish Sutari won the Expert Award of CMC; based on the decision of music professionals, guests and publicists present in Ostrava. Rethinking Polish tradition with skill and sensitivity, Sutari delivered a spellbinding concert on 30.06 on the festival’s Theater Hall stage.

Best of Boutique

Delegates were pampered by Ostrava-Poruba’s small town vibe, and the thoughtful crew of CMC. A streamlined scheduling ensured that guests could devote their full attention to showcases, as there were no overlaps in the lineup. Organizers facilitated networking via fun programmes and plenty of occasions to mingle and talk shop. A truly international delegate list spanning Cape Verde to Lebanon, Denmark to Canada presented truly global possibilities for CMC artists; in line with UPBEAT’s main mission.

Thank you Czech Music Crossroads for a great summer treat, and see you again!
