Ritmo x UPBEAT

Discover

Closing its gates after a 3-day musical journey of buoyant highs and bassy lows, the 2024 edition of Budapest Ritmo still resonates. The highest conference attendance and most psychedelic showcases mark the festival’s evolution, and make way for next year’s surprises. Ritmo was also a great occassion for the UPBEAT community to gather, discuss platform matters and besides the official programs, spend time together while enjoying the musical treats Ritmo offered.

Yet again, the lineup and organizers’ passion for making Budapest Ritmo a singular experience delivered. Crowds revelled in Gérald Toto’s velvety Afro-French chansons, Gaye Su Akyol’s lustrous psych-act, BCUC’s chatarctic seance and Puuluup’s versatile neofolk. Part of Bartók Spring, the festival is one of the most musically diverse events of the Hungarian capital.

Ritmo – as usual – started with a showcase day powered by UPBEAT, that truly captivated the audience of the festival. Six bands graced the stage and showed that folk music indeed influences and has relevance in nowadays global beats too. We’ll certainly be hearing more from these talented musicians: PJEV, Daj Ognia, DIS IS MARKĒTA, Hrubá Hudba, Elán, Hajda Banda / Гайда Банда.
