Méra world music festival just started, featuring the first UPBEAT-sponsored acts in the project’s history.
Méra is a small and friendly festival, held in Romania, 13 km from Cluj-Napoca. It’s a meeting place for people, music, different cultures and stories, a festival that makes the people of Mera proud. The main goal is to show the magic of the Kalotaszeg region to the world, while bringing bits of the whole world into the backyards of Mera villagers.
This year, Méra’s lineup featured an eclectic mix of bands and sounds from local folk to Ghanaian traditional acoustic music. It’s capacity is 1000-1200 visitors per day and the organisers would like to keep it that way: thanks to the intimate and familiar atmosphere it provides.
