“It is a great honour to be a part of the jury for this year’s prize. First and foremost, it was a great chance to hear a lot of exciting and authentic music. It was also an immense challenge – narrowing my favourites down was really difficult because the quality bar had been raised so high and the majority of the artists were bringing something unique and special to the table. I am sure the audience will enjoy discovering these artists just like we did and that discovery will help them learn something about themselves. Music always was and will remain a universal language and at times as challenging as these, it truly is a beacon of unity.” – summarised Vlad Yaremchuk, jury member.
The Prize
All nominees can receive mentoring to develop their skills and competencies needed to make headway on the international market. The winner of UPBEAT’s Best New Talent Award will get the chance to perform at the Czech Music Crossroads Festival in Ostrava, as well as a gig and professional video recording at a SOFAR Budapest event.
