Our OG member A to JazZ is a one of its kind feat of great music and pro meetups set in a leafy park in Sofia. UPBEAT had an active, joyful presence as we held a panel, handed over the Best New Talent Award to Fanie Fayar, grooved away to her French-Congolese beats and made plans with UPBEAT partners future and present.
Upon joining our platform, A to JazZ widened its offer, welcoming showcase elements and global beats. It’s been a win-win for both parties, as our team confirmed: a mutually beneficial cooperation in its flourishing phase. Our panel “New content for festivals? World music as a cultural bridge” featured Bojan Djordjevic (Ring Ring), Duygu Mühürdar (Pozitif), Lisa Nasta (Glastonbury Festival) and was hosted by our very own Veronika Vajda, sparked lively discussions, new collabs, and offered some hands-on advice for upcoming artists.
This year’s Best New Talent awardee, French-Congolese Fanie Fayar accepted her award at an informal ceremony, thanking UPBEAT, her loved ones and supporters, closing her speech with “long live music!”, then twisting the crowd around her fingers at a packed hall at A to JazZ’s evening venue. She shone her versatile talents deserving of a soaring trajectory lifted by UPBEAT.
At the daytime conference, we spoke with prospective partners and continued to build our network in the region and beyond. A to JazZ, with its great gigs, relaxed venues and bustling professional events sets a standard for our platform, and pampered the team. We will be back!
